• Maximum of (2) female anglers per boat

• Female anglers only may compete

• Teams may have a male or female guide/captain

• Maximum of (3) people per boat, including guide/captain

Tournament Hours: All fishing must take place during official tournament hours

• Lines In: 6:30 AM

• Lines Out: 3:30 PM

Boat Launch Requirements: Teams must launch from public boat ramps, private boat ramps, and/or marinas within Charleston County. Boats or watercraft may not be removed from the water to relocate fishing areas during tournament hours. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

Tournament Requirements | Mandatory Attendance: At least one team member from each team must be present at the Captain’s Meeting. To accept an award, a team representative must be present at the Awards Ceremony by 7:00 PM at Muddy’s Dockside Bar 1313 Shrimp Boat Lane Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464

Licensing & Compliance: All participants must follow South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) regulations. All anglers must possess a valid South Carolina saltwater fishing license. Charter boats are not exempt.

Fishing Submission Rules: 

• Fish must be caught and submitted on the same day.

• All fish submissions must be entered through the official Fishing Chaos platform.

• Daily submission deadline: 4:30 PM

Permitted Fishing Methods:

• Fly Fishing Only

• Catch and Release Only

• 20 lb maximum tippet

• One fly rod may be actively fished per angler at a time

Fishing Boundaries & Restrictions: Inshore Fishing Only

No Fishing: Offshore, Beach, Jetties

The following are not permitted:

• Chumming, Scent or Bait Attractants, Snagging, Sinking Fly Line, No Drones

Wading: Wading is permitted. Pursuing a fish on foot is allowed. Only one angler may pursue a fish at a time

Ketch Board: Each team will receive an official tournament Ketch Board for scoring and fish measurement. All rulers must be returned at the awards party on Saturday at Muddy’s Dockside Bar. All teams who return their ruler on Saturday get entered into a raffle for a free tournament entry next year.

Protests: Any protest regarding a rules violation must be submitted to the Tournament Committee no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the alleged infraction. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification at Tournament Committee discretion. All rulings made by the Tournament Committee are final.

Tournament Scoring: Winners will be determined by the combined total inches of each team’s three (3) largest redfish. Maximum of (3) scored fish per team. Only submitted fish count toward the final score.

Photo Submissions Must Include:

• A smartphone photo with timestamp

• Fish measured on the official tournament-issued Ketch Board

• The date and time visible on the original image

Screenshots will not be accepted.

Fish Positioning Requirements to Qualify for Measurement:

• The entire fish (head to tail) must be visible

• The fish’s eyes and spot may not be covered

• The fish’s mouth must be closed

• The fish’s nose must be touching the Ketch Board nose stop

• The tail must be pinched

Measurement Rules:

• Fish length will be rounded down to the nearest ¼ inch

• Measurement is taken nose to tail

• Any portion of the fish extending beyond or not visible on the ruler will not be counted

Photo Integrity Rule: Submitted images must be original and unaltered. Edited, manipulated, filtered, or altered submission photos may result in disqualification of the submitted fish and team disqualification at the discretion of the Tournament Committee

Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the earliest submitted measured fish included in the team’s final total.

All Women’s Boat Category: This category recognizes teams where every person on the boat is female, including the captain/guide. The winner will be determined by the single longest redfish submitted by an all-women’s boat. All standard tournament and measurement rules apply.

This is a bonus category and does not affect eligibility for the main tournament prizes.

Weather Policy: All anglers participate at their own discretion and risk. If weather conditions force the cancellation of one fishing day the tournament will convert to a one-day tournament. Any weather relation decisions will be made by the Tournament Committee, and all decisions are final.

Liability and Indemnity: All anglers participate at their own risk. By participating, anglers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Tournament Committee, Directors, Sponsors, Employees, and Representatives from any liability, loss, injury, or damages associated with participation in the event.

Rule Changes: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend, interpret, or modify these rules at any time, including during the event.
