THE DETAILS


Important Note: Anglers must be female; however, you are permitted to have a male guide or captain.

ENTRY FEE: $100/team

For those of you who’d like to brush up on your fly-casting skills or need a demonstration, we’ll be hosting a casting clinic at to kick things off at 3 PM on Thursday, September 28th. Afterwards, follow us over to Marsh Wear HQ (716 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29403) for our Welcome Party and Captains Meeting from 6-8 pm! We’ll have food trucks, live music and first access to all the new ladies gear from our Fall release!

We’ll kick off the tournament on Friday, September 29th, with lines in at 7:00 am and lines out at 4:30 pm. Teams have a choice of which day they fish for the tournament, but they can only pick one between Friday, September 29th and Saturday, September 30th. Teams must declare which day they will be fishing by 7pm prior to the day they fish. Fishing is allowed throughout the day until lines out at 4:30 pm. This is a fly fishing only tournament and all teams must launch from a Charleston County Boat Ramp.

After the fishing is over, we'll be keeping the good times rolling on Saturday September 30th at Lewis BBQ (464 N Nassau St, Charleston, SC 29403) from 7-10PM. Food and drink tickets per team for tournament participants, great raffle items from tournament sponsors, winner announcement, and live music.

There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner with great prizes from the sponsors of this year’s tournament!

RULES & REGULATIONS

Basic Regulations:

  • Maximum of (2) anglers per boat. ***Anglers must be female; however, you are permitted to have a male guide or captain. (3) person team max.***
  • Fishing Days: Friday, September 29, 2023 & Saturday, September 30, 2023 (Teams can pick either day to fish, but only one)
  • Lines In: 7:00am / Lines Out: 4:30pm
  • All teams must launch from Charleston County Boat Ramps.
  • Teams will be required to declare their fishing day by 7pm the day before they decide to fish.

Tournament Rules:

  • Tournament participants must adhere to all SCDNR rules and have a valid saltwater fishing license. No exception for charter boats.
  • Fly Fishing Only; Catch and Release Only
  • 20lb max tippet
  • Inshore Fishing Only (No fishing off beach, jetties, offshore, etc. No chumming, scent, snagging or sinking line permitted)
  • Wading permitted. Pursuing a fish on foot is acceptable, but only one angler can pursue a fish at a time.
  • Winners determined by most combined inches from (3) largest fish. You can only measure and count (3) fish per boat/team towards your final measurement.
  • At least one team member must be present at the Captains Meeting and the Awards Ceremony be present at the weigh in by 7:00 pm at Lewis BBQ or you will be disqualified (464 N Nassau St, Charleston, SC 29403).
  • You will be required to show a smartphone photo with timestamp of the fish measured on provided tournament day measuring tape (included in Captain’s buckets). You must be able to show the date and time the photo was captured; we will not be able to accept screenshots.
  • Lines in at 7:00 am and lines out at 4:30 pm. The tournament days are Friday, September 29,2023 and Saturday, September 30, 2023. No other photos will be accepted that fall outside of this time window.
  • All timestamped photos must be submitted by 6 pm on the day you choose to fish. Submissions must be sent to Kaitlyn Dobbins at (386) 283-1321.
  • Measurements must be taken to the nearest quarter inch from nose to tail. Any part of the fish not on the measuring tape will not be counted.
  • Tie breaker goes to first measured/counted fish in your tournament total.
  • You cannot take your boat or watercraft out of the water to move locations, or you will be disqualified.
  • Anyone protesting another team for a rules violation must do so to the tournament committee no later than 6:30pm day of infraction. The tournament committee will settle any protest and their decision will be final.

Weather:

  • All anglers will fish at their own discretion and at their own risk.
  • If bad weather causes the cancellation of one of the two days of fishing, the tournament will become a one-day tournament. The judges’ committee shall be responsible for making the decision.

Indemnity:

  • All anglers will fish at their own risk. All anglers agree to indemnify and hold harmless all members of the Tournament Committee, Directors, Sponsors and their agents and employees from any and all liability, loss or damage they may suffer as a result of this fishing tournament.
