Grab the gals and meet us in Charleston, SC, this fall for our third annual Marsh Wear Women’s Redfish Fly Tournament, the Lady Red Rendezvous!  Important Note: Anglers must be female; however, you can have a male guide or captain.

THE DETAILS

We're kicking off the tournament at Freehouse Brewery (2895 Pringle St Suite B, North Charleston, SC 29405) Thursday, September 11th from 6-8 p.m. for our Welcome Party and Captains Meeting! We’ll have food + drinks, live music from Charleston's own Meredith Foster, and first access to all the new ladies' gear from our newest Fall 2025 Collection, not to mention raffles and LRR Tournament merch!

The tournament will begin bright and early on Friday, September 12th, and continue to Saturday, September 13th, with lines in at 7:30 a.m. and lines out at 4:30 p.m. on both days. Teams will be fishing for TWO days! Fishing is allowed throughout the day until lines out at 4:30 p.m. This is a fly-fishing-only tournament, and all teams must launch from a Charleston County Boat Ramp.

After the fishing is over, we'll be keeping the good times rolling on Saturday, September 13th, at Bowen's Island Restaurant (870 Bowens Island Rd, Charleston, SC 29412) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be food and drink tickets per team for tournament participants, great raffle items from tournament sponsors, a winner announcement, and a live concert!

There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner with great prizes from the sponsors of this year’s tournament!

 Captain's Meeting | Freehouse Brewery | Thursday, September 11th, 6-8 p.m.

Join us at Freehouse Brewery for the welcome party, tournament check-in, review of rules and regulations, and grab your Captain's Bags. Food and drinks will be served from 6 to 8 PM, and the rules will be read at 6:45 PM.

 

Happy Hour | Marsh Wear King St. Flagship | Friday, September 12, 6-8 p.m.

In honor of our new flagship store, we will be hosting a happy hour downtown Charleston at 306 King Street. We'll have music by a local legend, Jim Rubush, custom Lady Red Beer from Estuary Brewing, and the all-new Fall 2025 line to browse.

 

After Party | Bowen's Island Restaurant | Saturday, September 13th, 7-10 p.m.

We'll be keeping the good times rolling on Saturday, September 13th at Bowen's Island Restaurant from 7-10 p.m. Food and drink tickets per team for tournament participants, great raffle items from tournament sponsors, winner announcement, and live music.


RULES & REGULATIONS

 

Basic Regulations

  • Maximum 2 anglers per boat.

  • All anglers must be female. A male guide or captain is allowed.

  • Maximum 3 people per team (including captain/guide).

  • Fishing Days: Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 & Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025

  • Fishing Hours: Lines In 7:30 AM | Lines Out 4:30 PM

  • All teams must launch from Charleston County Boat Ramps.

Tournament Requirements

  • At least one team member must attend both the Captain’s Meeting and the Awards Ceremony.

  • All teams must be present at Bowens Island Restaurant (870 Bowens Island Rd, Charleston, SC 29412) by 7:00 PM to accept an award.

  • All participants must follow SCDNR rules and have a valid saltwater fishing license. (Charter boats are not exempt.)

  • Catch submissions must be uploaded to the official Fishing Chaos platform by 5:30 PM each fishing day.

  • Fly Fishing Only | Catch & Release Only | 20 lb Max Tippet

  • Inshore fishing only – No beach, jetty, offshore fishing, chumming, scent, snagging, or sinking line.
    Wading allowed – Only one angler may pursue a fish on foot at a time.

  • Boats/watercraft may not be trailered or removed from the water to change locations. Doing so results in disqualification.

Protests

  • Any protest must be submitted to the Tournament Committee by 6:30 PM on the day of the infraction.

  • The Tournament Committee’s decision is final.

Scoring – Redfish

  • Scoring is based on the combined length of the three (3) largest redfish per team.

  • Fish must be measured on the provided Ketch Board and photographed with:

    • Nose touching the nose stop, mouth closed, tail pinched.

    • Entire fish visible (head to tail, including eye and spot).

    • Timestamp and date visible (no screenshots accepted).

  • Lengths are rounded down to the nearest ¼ inch.

  • Tie-breaker: the first fish submitted counts.

All-Women’s Boat Category

  • Celebrates teams with all-female anglers, guides, and captains.

  • Winner: longest single redfish submitted by an all-women’s boat.

  • Standard measurement/photo rules apply.

  • Tie-breaker: earliest submission.

  • This is a bonus category and does not affect eligibility for overall prizes.

Weather

  • Anglers fish at their own discretion and risk.

  • If the weather cancels one day, the event becomes a one-day tournament

  • The Judges’ Committee has final authority.

Indemnity

  • All anglers participate at their own risk.

  • By entering, anglers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Tournament Committee, Directors, Sponsors, and their agents/employees from any liability, loss, or damage.

Rule Changes

  • Tournament Rules may be amended at any time, at the Committee’s discretion, including during the event.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER A MALE GUIDE/CAPTAIN?

No, you do not need to register your male guide or captain for the tournament. Please register all female anglers or guides on your team.

Can I bring friends & family to the awards party?

Yes! We would love for you to bring any friends and family to this year's awards party at Estuary Beans and Barley. Registered tournament participants will receive tickets for free food and drinks. Additional family and friends in attendance can purchase food and drinks as needed onsite.

How many days of fishing are there this year?

There are TWO full fishing days in this year's tournament. Anglers will be fishing Friday and Saturday.
