2024 LADY RED RENDEZVOUS

Grab the gals and meet us in Charleston, SC, this fall for our second annual Marsh Wear Women’s Redfish Fly Tournament, the Lady Red Rendezvous!  Important Note: Anglers must be female; however, you can have a male guide or captain.


THE DETAILS

We're kicking off the tournament in our own backyard at Marsh Wear's HQ (716 Meeting St, Charleston, SC 29403) on Thursday, September 19th from 6-8 p.m. for our Welcome Party and Captains Meeting! We’ll have HomeTeam BBQ, live music from Charleston's own Meredith Foster, and first access to all the new ladies' gear from our newest Fall 2024 Collection, not to mention raffles and LRR Tournament merch!

The tournament will begin bright and early on Friday, September 20th, and continue to Saturday, September 21st, with lines in at 7:00 a.m. and lines out at 5:30 p.m. on both days. Teams will be fishing for TWO days this year! Fishing is allowed throughout the day until lines out at 5:30 p.m. This is a fly-fishing-only tournament, and all teams must launch from a Charleston County Boat Ramp.

After the fishing is over, we'll be keeping the good times rolling on Saturday, September 21st, at Estuary Beans & Barley (3538 Meek's Farm Road Johns Island, SC 29455) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be food and drink tickets per team for tournament participants, great raffle items from tournament sponsors, a winner announcement, and a live concert!

There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner with great prizes from the sponsors of this year’s tournament!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

 Captain's Meeting | Freehouse Brewery | Thursday, September 19th, 6-8 p.m.

Join us at Freehouse Brewery for the welcome party, tournament check-in, review of rules and regulations, and grab your Captain's Bags. Food and drinks will be served from 6 to 8 PM, and the rules will be read at 6:45 PM.

 

After Party | Estuary Beans & Barley | Saturday, September 21st, 7-10 p.m.

We'll be keeping the good times rolling on Saturday, September 21st, at Estuary Beans & Barley from 7-10 p.m. Food and drink tickets per team for tournament participants, great raffle items from tournament sponsors, winner announcement, and live music.


RULES & REGULATIONS

Basic Regulations:

  • Maximum of (2) anglers per boat. ***Anglers must be female; however, you can have a male guide or captain. (3) person team max.***

    Fishing Days: Friday, September 20, 2024 & Saturday, September 21, 2024

    Lines In: 7:00 am / Lines Out: 5:30 pm

    All teams must launch from Charleston County Boat Ramps.

Tournament Rules:

  • At least one team member must be present at the Captain's Meeting and the Awards Ceremony. You must also be at the weigh-in by 7:00 pm at Estuary Beans & Barley, or you will be disqualified (3538 Meek's Farm Rd, Johns Island, SC 29455).

  • Tournament participants must adhere to all SCDNR rules and have a valid saltwater fishing license. Charter boats are not exempt.

  • Fly Fishing Only; Catch and Release Only

  • 20lb max tippet

  • Inshore Fishing Only (No fishing off the beach, jetties, offshore, etc.)

  • Waters must be publicly accessible. No private waters, no impoundments or lock systems are considered eligible waters.

  • No chumming, scent, snagging, or sinking line permitted.
  • Wading permitted. Pursuing a fish on foot is acceptable, but only one angler can pursue a fish at a time.

  • The tournament will be facilitated through the Fishing Chaos app. Be sure to have the latest version of the app downloaded.

  • You will submit your photos through the Fishing Chaos app.
  • Winners are determined by the most combined inches from (3) largest fish per boat/team. You may submit as many fish as you wish. The Fishing Chaos app will “cull” your smallest fish as fish are entered.

  • You must show a smartphone photo with a timestamp of the fish measured on the provided tournament day measuring tape (included in Captain’s buckets). The photo must also show the date and time it was captured; we cannot accept screenshots. To be accepted, these must be submitted directly through the Fishing Chaos platform.

  • The head of the redfish must be lined up with the 0 on the ruler, with belly of the fish to the bottom of the measuring tape, so there is no question on measurement.

  • Each photo submitted for measurement must show the mouth/lips to the tail of the redfish.

  • Do not cover the eye or the spot on the redfish. Any photos submitted with the eye or spot covered will be denied.

  • Any part of the fish not on the measuring tape will not be counted.

  • Measurements must be taken to the nearest quarter inch from nose to tail.  

  • The tiebreaker goes to the first measured/counted fish in your tournament total.

    You cannot take your boat or watercraft out of the water to move locations, or you will be disqualified.

  • Lines in at 7:00 am and lines out at 5:30 pm. The tournament days are Friday, September 20, 2024, and Saturday, September 21, 2024. No other photos will be accepted that fall outside of this time window.

  • All time-stamped photos must be submitted by 6 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Submissions must be entered through the official Fishing Chaos platform.

    Anyone protesting another team for a rule’s violation must do so to the tournament committee no later than 6:30 p.m. on the day of the infraction. The tournament committee will settle any protest, and its decision will be final.


Weather:

  • All anglers will fish at their own discretion and their own risk.

  • If bad weather cancels one of the two days of fishing, the tournament will become a one-day tournament. The judges’ committee will make the decision.

Indemnity:

  • All anglers will fish at their own risk. All anglers agree to indemnify and hold harmless all members of the Tournament Committee, Directors, Sponsors, and their agents and employees from any and all liability, loss, or damage they may suffer due to this fishing tournament.

  • These
    Rules may be amended at any time, in our sole discretion, including during the Event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED TO REGISTER A MALE GUIDE/CAPTAIN?

No, you do not need to register your male guide or captain for the tournament. Please register all female anglers or guides on your team.

Can I bring friends & family to the awards party?

Yes! We would love for you to bring any friends and family to this year's awards party at Estuary Beans and Barley. Registered tournament participants will receive tickets for free food and drinks. Additional family and friends in attendance can purchase food and drinks as needed onsite.

How many days of fishing are there this year?

There are TWO full fishing days in this year's tournament. Anglers will be fishing Friday and Saturday.
